The postpaid high end plans

Considering the high end plans? Which one?

All operators offer their high end plans at a RM250 commitment. Maxis, on top of the VP250 plan, also offers a higher plan at a RM500 commitment. In this dissertation, we shall focus on the RM250 plans.
For a RM250 commitment, Celcom offers RM200 worth of shared voice call and SMS bundle, and RM98 worth of broadband monthly subscription.

Maxis does not provide an upfront bundle value tied with the RM250 commitment. It settles with the rate 10sen / minute call for all network, but after a RM100 usage, Maxis provides RM250 worth of free Maxis-to-Maxis call. The mechanics employed is similar to that of the VP150 plan.

The DG250 offers free domestic calls and SMS up to RM600. We assume here that the usage is made at the rate of 13sen/minute for voice call and 10sen per SMS across all network, and that the rate remains the same beyond the bundle cap as it is not explicitly indicated on the official website.
At the given rate, the plan translates into approximately 4615 equivalent minutes or 6000 equivalent SMS.

Direct comparison shows, Digi's DG250 plan offers a far better value for money proposition than its competitors as far as bundled voice and SMS is concerned. If you are an avid user and would like to have a piece of mind in hard limit communication expenses, this maybe the plan for you. RM600 worth of minutes and SMS should able to cater your monthly communication needs.

On the other hand, Celcom's CEP250 plan provides a more comprehensive plan with the inclusion of a data package. If you feel that RM200 worth of monthly communication (voice and SMS) is sufficient and that you also seek complementary data connectivity, this plan would be suitable for you.

The Maxis VP250 plan is attractive if you are a heavy user and that your frequent peers are from Maxis too.

in my opinion, celcom cep250 is the best plan..

we're not only enjoying lower call rates at 10sen/min, but also enjoy FREE 3g/hsdpa services (worth rm98/month).. all in one in a single package at rm250 only..

because nowadays, we're not only comunicate through call/sms only.. we need data services too such as internet access, email connectivity, IM, etc.. that is the power of true connection..

Thank you Epool for the opinion.
If RM200 worth of minutes / SMS is sufficient for the customer, then it is the plan to choose. That is what 3G is meant for, calls and data anywhere. But since the customer is a high end consumer, he may not mind spending more to talk more. The key is that data bundling makes the plan attractive and versatile.

If the consumer does prefer for the best value for talktime, Digi offers a really generous plan for this segment.

Hello hyjlmc,
My comparison was based on the table presented at their website back in december 2008. Apparently they did not specify the call rate for DG250 other than the fact that 600 worth of free minutes are offered. In the article above I did put the term 'assume' due to this. But you are right, since Digi offers now the rate 10sen/min for its DG150, it is most logical that DG250 would be rated at 10sen/min too. Nevertheless, DG250 is still the most attractive [voice] package here.

Do allow me to update the table in time. Digi likes to launch new packages periodically too.

regards.
